D-MAR Descending Ramp
The Design
ROFRAUS’ invention is a Descending Mechanised Access Ramp (D-MAR) system which provides passengers independent wheelchair access between a train, a tramway or a bus and the station platforms it travels to.
Heavy Duty Descending Mechanised Access Ramps are designed for large train stations with heavy pedestrian traffic. These ramps can also be used for loading materials onto commercial transportation.
For common train stations and for buses, a light D-MAR version is available. The panels are 1000mm wide and 28mm thick only, to facilitate the insertion of the ramp under the vehicle's floor. The panels are also smaller (160mm), compared to the Heavy Duty option (360mm). The Light D-MAR is much easier to assemble and to operate, due to these light panels.
