TESTIMONIALS

We all know the stories [access to transport]. It’s about common sense and it’s about equity and universal access. After watching these videos, I don’t think actually that anybody needs to be convinced that ramps like that will work. We are very grateful for NTRO for taking the initiative to solve this problem [the gap between the platform and the train]. We are really grateful to be involved.
— Erik van Vulpen Deputy Director, La Trobe University
The ramp demonstration involved participants coming into trial the ramps and then give their opinion of how it might change the way that people with disability might be able to access the public transport.

NTRO is playing a critical catalyst and sponsor of this particular innovation. We have the opportunity to bring together potential end- purchasers from a governmental perspective, to take advantage of this innovation.
— Robert Moffat, Executive Director NTRO Rail
If we use the manual ramp, we need to ask the driver when we getting in. And, as is quite frequently the case, the driver gets court with other things that are going with that trip.. you don’t know if the driver even is aware if you even exist really.
— AFDO REPRESENTATIVE
It’s important that people with disabilities can maintain an autonomous lifestyle. You know, if we can integrate this technology into the train, it’s good for us, it’s good for disabled people, you know, for their independence.

Department of Transport [VIC] has a vision around simple, safe, connected journeys. Making all our journeys accessible is absolutely core to our vision and what we’re aiming to achieve as a State.
— David Martin, Strategic Data Partnerships, Department of Transport Victoria
My experience here today was the solutions the A-MAR and D-MAR concepts provided me, myself and my guide dog, very smooth access into and out of the prototype conveyances that were provided here today.
— David Simmonds, Director of Transport Accessibility, Department of Transport and Planning Victoria
I think is very important, because everyone needs to feel safe and have equal accessibility through the public
transport system.

About Michel

Member of the Institution of Engineers Australia and National Professional Engineers Register.

Member of the European Engineers Association.

With 40 years of international experience in Civil Engineering, Roads and Transportation across Australia, France, New Caledonia, Romania and the UK, as well as a passion for innovation, Michel created ROFRAUS (in 2009) to deliver innovative engineering solutions for the transportation industry.

His most recent experience as Project and Design Manager within the Railway and Transportation Industry, in companies such as Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW), the John Holland Group and Gartner Rose sparked his interest as he saw a gap in the market for safe, sturdy and efficient ramps for disabled passengers.

Michel is proud to introduce his two recently patented innovations, both of which provide a solution for independent access to wheelchair users between the floor of a train, tramway, bus and the station platform.

An article about the invention has been published in the UK "Rail Director" magazine in December 2021. Click the link below to consult it.
